How Does The Leap Frog Tag Reader Work?
The tag reader (the little pen) actually hold a small camera in the tip . This camera is a smart device that is able to identify words and symbols on the specially printed pages, giving kids lots of options. My kids love it
I bought this for my 5year old for Christmas and he loves it! It was one of his favorites this year. My 4year old girl loves it too so we may be purchasing another one. It’s educational and fun for the kids. My kids play with it for hours at a time. We’ve only had it for two weeks but so far I have no complaints!
Lot’s of fun! Plus a trick if it stops reading the books!
Santa brought this for my 6 year old and he loves it! He loves playing the games and seeing his rewards on the web page. The leapster web site had some problems for a few days due and overload of users on their site.
A few complaints - It only holds 5 books, which isn’t too bad. Once he gets bored with one book we can download a new one. Also, the red sensor is very sensitive. After only a few days we couldn’t get the pen to read the books any more. Before I took it back I noticed that there was a smudge on the sensor. I cleaned it off with a q-tip and it started working again. Overall, we are very happy with the product.

My daughter got this system and several of the books for Christmas. This is a wonderful learning toy. My daughter and myself have had a great time with this. Not only does this help with word recognition, it also helps recognize sentences and sentence breaks. The stories and games are great!! If you get the head phones also, it’s great in the car for long trips. Thank you leap frog for this wonderful learning system!!! Big thumbs up!!!!
